Nathan Salmon
CTO, Co-founder

A co-founder of Populi, Nathan leads the company’s engineering efforts as CTO, fostering the development of disruptive and transparent claims-based healthcare analytics solutions and self-service APIs with cutting-edge serverless and machine learning technologies.

Nathan also serves as CTO of Masheen, a seed-stage incubator and venture firm with a focus on Connecticut startups. Together with Bill Moschella, Nick Bequary and Karin Campbell, they’ve grown a high-performing team with a nimble and progressive culture. To date they have built and run five successful companies across the education, IoT and healthcare industries.

Nathan began his career at Cerner, an electronic medical record (EMR) software company. There, he cut his teeth on big data technologies while developing revenue-cycle solutions under the HealtheIntent population health platform. It was here he developed a passion for the possibilities at the intersection of healthcare and technology. From here, he jumped into the startup world, architecting, building and advising on the implementation of big data analytics platforms in the healthcare, education, consumer electronics, telecom, IoT and event management spaces.

Nathan is a graduate of the University of Missouri with degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering. He also completed two years of study abroad in Japan and China.

When not knee-deep in data, Nathan can be found out gigging on keys or guitar, practicing martial arts or hiking.
