Meet Leah Shea, Executive Vice President of Product at Populi. With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, strategy and analytics, she is a key part of our team, helping us deliver the healthcare analytics our clients need in the platforms they use every day.

Q: What’s your role at Populi, and what does an average day look like for you?
A: My role is EVP of Product, which means I have the privilege of working across the organization to develop and improve our products to provide increasing value and insights to our customers. Every day is unique–it’s a blend of working internally with the technical teams and externally with existing customers and prospects.
Q: How do you facilitate collaboration with your team in a remote setting?
A: The product team is agile; we have daily scrums and huddles. We also have regular 1:1s and weekly team meetings to stay in sync. Slack is a great place to share ideas as well! Not everything has to be a meeting.
Q: What do you think customers value the most about their experience with Populi?
A: Direct access to curated market, provider, and consumer data and analytics, alongside an expert healthcare analytics team. We provide deep levels of insight into the data that allow customers complete flexibility and transparency.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working for Populi?
A: Definitely the team at Populi! It’s a diverse group of people who foster a culture of collaboration, ideas and fun (please refer to our “dad jokes” channel).
Q: Why should someone join your team at Populi?
A: I firmly believe that advancing analytics and insights will help improve healthcare. The work at Populi is more than simply working with data—it’s transforming what we know about healthcare consumers and their journeys through our healthcare system.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote?
A: “Any fool can make something complicated. It takes a genius to make it simple.”
― Woody Guthrie
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: We love to have fun! Thinking and drinking (with a favorite whiskey or beer), going to the Saint Louis Zoo, and trying new recipes are favorite weekend activities. Every day, you can find me playing piano (currently working on Beethoven’s Sonata No.8), boxing / kickboxing, and spending time with my husband and 5-year-old son.
Q: Dogs or cats?
A: Guinea pigs. But also, I love all animals and have had both dogs and cats.
